I'm a software engineer who fell for the people side of the job. I've spent most of my career building and leading engineering teams: hiring great engineers, setting up how they work together, and staying close enough to the code to keep everyone honest.

Along the way I led the rebuild of Couchsurfing's 17-million-user platform, helped break Bonobos' Rails monolith into event-driven services, and built the tech behind Good Dog's marketplace for dogs and their people. These days I'm most excited about AI: agents, LLM tooling, and getting machines to handle the tedious parts so people can do the interesting ones.

When I'm not at a keyboard, I'm gardening, building side projects, or workshopping dad jokes.
